In 1987, the American Medical Association recognized Fibromyalgia (FMS) as a true illness and a major cause of disability in the United States.

There is no known cure for Fibromyalgia. The diagnosis is solely based on exclusion and chronic widespread localized pain with different tender joints. With Fibromyalgia, x-ray and blood tests DO NOT show any abnormality. Of those who have Fibromyalgia 70-90% have one or more of the following signs and symptoms:​

~Swollen feet
